Free Press in Oregon

Oregon's governor will sign the law protecting freedom of the student press on Friday, according to this report. We're still waiting to find out when Illinois' dreadful governor Rod Blagojevich will sign the Illinois bill.

Although inspired by the reverse-Hosty movement, Oregon's law is a dramatic success because it brings protection to high school journalists, and reverses the evil Hazelwood decision. Now it's time to see the rest of the states defend the freedom of student journalists.
