The Libel Police

Recently, I wrote a post about the danger to free expression posed by libel suits. One particular danger is the example of "libel tourism" where people sue under Britain's appalling libel laws. Robert Spencer in the Washington Times writes about the case of one scholar who is now banned from Britain by virtue of a libel ruling against her. While people debate a proposed British academic boycott against Israel, I wonder if scholars may need to start boycotting Britain in order to protect themselves from libel suits.
