The Unethical Ethics Quiz in Illinois

I've long despised the Illinois "ethics" office and the quiz it imposes on all college employees. I wrote about the Illinois ethics nonsense in the Fall 2004 issue of Illinois Academe. The Illinois AAUP also issued a statement about the ethics test.

But now they've gone absolutely insane. The Chicago Tribune reports that the ethics office is failing professors if they finish the dumb quiz too quickly. Yes, that's right. It's not enough for this stupid quiz to waste everyone's time and misinform them about ethical issues. No, now you have to waste even more time on this dumbed-down exam or they will fail you. It's time to eliminate this exam and stop imposing ethics reform on college employees.
