Science Squelched in Missouri

The sickening, immoral attack on scientific research continues in Missouri, where a new Health Sciences Research and Education Center at the University of Missouri-Columbia will not be funded because of the fear that stem cell research might be conducted. The legislature actually included a ban on stem cell research at the facility, but because Missouri voters passed their support for stem cell research last fall, Missouri Right to Life fears that the provision would overturned in the courts and therefore opposes allowing any new science buildings to be constructed, terrified at the idea that frozen cells might be used for life-saving research rather than thrown in the trash as they are now.
